About Us

Who are we?
Cub Scout Pack 61 is no different than that any of the thousands of others across the country. We are sponsored by Stewartsville Presbyterian Church, affiliated with the National Boys Scouts of America organization, and belong to the Minsi Trail Council, which serves tens of thousands of youth in Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe, Carbon, Luzerne Counties in Pennsylvania and part of Warren County in New Jersey. Our district is the Forks of the Delaware District, which serves Easton, Wilson, Pen Argyl, Bangor, Nazareth, PA, and Phillipsburg, Stewartsville, Harmony, Bloomsbury, Franklin Township, NJ school districts. The Cub Scout program is for boys ages 7 through 11. At 11, Cub Scouts are promoted into Boy Scouts.

What do we do?
The Pack Handbook is intended to acquaint you with the Cub Scout Pack 61 program. It contains a general discussion of what the program is all about, detailed sections on the Tiger Cub, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos levels of Cub Scouts which are intended to answer many of your questions. We hope this will be a handy reference for you now and as your son advances in his Cub Scout career.

What are our rules?
The Pack Policy is intended to serve as rules of execution for all Pack business and functions.

How do we protect our boys?
Cub Scout Pack 61, along with the Boy Scouts of America, is dedicated to the protection of the youth of our nation. The primary way in which we attempt to make a difference is in education. Each new leader of pack 61 is REQUIRED to attend a Youth Protection Training course designed to aid the leader in identifying possible abuse symptoms and informing them of reporting procedures within Minsi Trails Council when abuse is suspected. The Boy Scouts of America has added a booklet in the front of every scout handbook geared to the age of the boy. Here is an electronic version of the booklet "How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide" from the Boy Scout Handbook.

What about uniforming?
The Cub Scout Uniform serves multiple purposes. It provides for our sons a sense of belonging, it identifies them as Cub Scouts to the community and it is the place where they display their achievements in Cub Scouting. Proper uniforming is important to the pride that should be felt when wearing the Cub Scout uniform. The Cub Scout Uniform Inspection Sheet will be used during uniform inspections and is here to provide you with guidance on proper placement of insignia and awards.
